Did you know that any average preschool kid can learn to read in less than 20 days? They don’t need memorization to be able to read words, sentences and even short stories! Believe it or not, we have been doing this for more than ten years now. What surprises all the parents even more about our technique is that we don’t teach the traditional Alphabet or ABC’s. Yes, you heard it right. We have proven that teaching your child the ABC’s and letting them memorize every single letter from the alphabet is guaranteed to slow down their learning process of reading. Why? Simply because the traditional alphabet method is designed to teach reading in a relatively slow pace. It becomes more disastrous when every word they would initially read is picture- aided.
We don’t have to look elsewhere to prove our point. The school system is the living proof that our students are learning the art of reading at a very slow pace. Normally it takes 2-3 school years before students learn how to read simple sentences. Since time immemorial this has been the school’s standard. We have fully accepted its method and believed that it is but natural for kids to learn reading the long way and that the alphabet is the only and most reliable first step to teach reading effectively. We even teach our kids to sing and memorize the A B C’s at a very young age. Well, we are not saying that this is actually wrong. We have to understand that during the 20th century or the industrial age, when the lifestyle of people was still moving at a very slow rate, using this alphabet method of teaching reading had been very effective. We do believe that this system has already served its purpose.
But times have changed. We are now in the digital age where “instant living” is a lifestyle. Cell Phones and internet are used for instant messaging andfaster communication. We are quick to complain when the internet connection is down and the downloading of files is very slow. Time is so precious that we just couldn’t afford to wait. Technology is continuously evolving to address and cope with our fast paced lifestyle. This advancement should also transcend to education especially in teaching reading to digital learners. This is exactly where our kids belong…a generation of Digital Learners.
Teaching them to read the slow-paced, old fashioned way is not appropriate to their learning style anymore. We need to realize that 2 to 3 years of learning how to read is such a long wait and waste of time. It’s like teaching them to use an obsolete typewriter to do their report when a faster and powerful computer is what they need.. This mentality is one of the reasons why the incidences of struggling readers are increasing in numbers now than ever before. We realised this problem and came up with an innovative solution through the Instant Reader Program. Instant Reader revolutionized the way reading has to be taught to non-readers. It has innovatively formulated all the essential elements that would blend into the natural process of learning reading quickly and effectively. At Instant Reader, we teach children the systematic and natural way of reading effectively and quickly without learning the alphabet first nor using pictures as its aide. The result is astonishing! Kids 3 years old and above are learning to read at an unprecedented pace. The usual 2-3 years of teaching reading was cut significantly in less than 20 days.Reading being the heart of learning is the most basic yet complex skill upon which all others are built. We need to put extra conscious effort and make this skill the very first to conquer every young digital learner’s attention. With Instant Reader your digital child will never be left behind!
Once you experience the Instant reader way, you will not teach the traditional alphabet to your next child ever again.
